Florida-New Jersey Friends Weekend-September 18-21

This past Thursday started our Florida-New Jersey Friends Weekend which we hosted at our beach house. We were on a cruise this past February with most of these friends. We had 17 Florida friends and 13 New Jersey friends here at our house. We picked up Debby and Marty at the AC airport Thursday night, they are full time Florida residents. On Friday, two local friends came to the house. As the day went on, we had our friends from Maine come in by car. Our friends from Upstate New York came by car. We had friends from Michigan come after them. Our friends from Delaware picked up two couples from Florida who arrived at the Philly airport. We had 18 for dinner Friday night. We hosted 12 of the 18 people here at our house, the others stayed in a local apartment which they really enjoyed. On Saturday most of us boated to Atlantic City for the day. We invited the New Jersey friends for Saturday night's dinner. They were in charge of appetizers and desserts. The Florida friends were to make something from where they are from. For instance, Jane and Paul from Maine made a "moose" meatloaf. Jeannie made a Cuban dish etc. We had a total of 30 for dinner that evening. We chilled for most of Sunday. Some went shopping while others went to the beach for a swim. We had yummy chili and hot dogs that evening, thanks to Janice and Debby. Janice brought ice cream and fixings for ice cream sundaes, they were so good! Most people left on Monday, Debby and Marty left Tuesday at noon. All in all it was a wonderful time!!!

September Saturday

John and I decided to stay put today at home. Our friends dropped over by boat, we had a fun visit with them. I took a picture of this hibiscus flower as I am getting a second bloom this year!

Bob, Nancy and Mary came by today for a visit.

John helped them tie up onto our dock.

Grandparent's Day

We got to spend an hour at Emily's school yesterday afternoon for Grandparent's Day. I think Emily was the only one in her class with all four grandparents! They were in the Information Tech-Library room learning about computers! The teacher had them draw a picture after she read them a story. She had a large monitor and showed the children how to navigate around on the screen. Emily is really enjoying kindergarten, she is growing up too fast.

A nice visit to PA

I took a trip to PA to visit the Bona's. I got to see Sara Jane's preschool which was fun. Then we went to the local library for the girls to pick up some books and DVD's. I helped Sara with her first homework project, a show and tell on the color "red". The girls love to play outside and they got a lot of it as the weather was just beautiful, very fall like. Baby Joseph is growing up too fast, it was a fun time for sure.
Sara likes to read the entire book before she chooses it to bring home.
Anna, on the other hand, dumps every book off the shelf into Molly's "book" bag.

An award was sent my way

My sister in law, Susan, sent me this award. Thanks Sue!
I am suppose to pass this onto other bloggers. Read the following and try to get other bloggers to join the "awards" list!
Here's how it works.
(1) You put the logo on your blog if you are nominated copying it from the one who nominated you.
(2) Link the person you received your award from.(3) Nominate at least 7 other blogs ( I don't know that many yet so I nominated those that I visit often).
(4) Their blogs are linked on mine.
(5) I sent a message to these people on their blogs to let them know I nominated them.
My nominees are as follows:

Atlantic City "in water" Boat Show

Chris, John and I enjoyed a day at the Atlantic City "in water" boat show. Our friends, Corey and Nancy, dock their boat year round at Farley State Marina. We spent a few hours with them lounging on their comfy boat. We enjoyed walking around the marina and saw plenty of beautiful boats. Chris took us in his boat, this gave John a chance to relax! A fun day was had by all.
