And the grand prize winner is......................

John and I went to Cape Harbour last evening to enjoy Deb and the Dynamics. We were approached by a group of lady pirates who are hosting the Pirates in Paradise Boat Parade at the end of this month. They gave us an application to enter the parade. We purchased two tee shirts as it benefits The Harry Chapin Food Bank. I use to work at Harry Chapin, but now I am at the Caring Center in our town. We get our food from the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Anyway, we purchased a few raffle tickets for some prizes. After Deb's first set, the ladies came up to the platform and began to rattle off all sorts of numbers for prizes. As ususal, all of the tickets were called and ended with the "grand" prize winner. None of our numbers were called so we headed out. All of a sudden one lady announced that the ticket holder of the grand prize winner did not step up to redeem the prize. She shouted out another number and all of a sudden, John starts yelling..........that's me..........that's me........Then I see him run over to a garbage can to retrieve the tickets he threw out as he thought he had not won anything. The crowd got a big kick out of John getting his grand prize ticket out of the garbage. We won a nice gift certificate to a restaurant down here and a four day stay and boat dockage at The Marina at Cape Harbour. So I guess we are winners afterall!
